If you are having a difficult time getting into the Christmas spirit, consider watching some Christmas-themed movies to put you in the holiday mood. There are many great movies that capture the essence of the Christmas season, but there are four classics that are quality films, but also can help to remind you what the Christmas Season is truly about.

A Christmas Story

If you need to get the in Christmas spirit with humor and a few hearty laughs or just looking back on your own childhood Christmas memories, this is the movie for you. A Christmas Story is an absolute classic for the holiday season. Set in the 1940’s, the movie is narrated by Ralphie as he seeks to navigate the assurance that he will receive the Red Rider BB gun he desperately wants for Christmas. The film shows life in a typical family and briefly touches on many issues faced by Americans during that time. This hilarious movie can be enjoyed by all ages and its viewing will definitely bring some holiday cheer into your house. This is by far one of my favorite classic Christmas movies of all time and one I am sure you will enjoy!

It’s a Wonderful Life

This Christmas classic will help you remember what is important in life. George Bailey is the main character in the film. After a mistake with a loan payment is discovered, Bailey sinks to the depths of despair and considers committing suicide on Christmas Eve. Clarence, an angel, comes shows George what life in his small town would have been like had he never been born. It’s a Wonderful Life can help you keep the Christmas spirit alive this season.

Miracle on 34th Street

If you need a reminder that believing in something often involves a little extra faith, this is the movie for you. Miracle on 34th Street takes place in Macy’s Department Store when the “real” Santa Claus shows up. Six-year old Susan, who long ago learned that Santa Claus is just pretend, comes face to face with Kris Kringle himself, and in a serious of even, realizes that he is real after all. This is another classic Christmas movie that will put a spring in your step throughout the Christmas Season.

A Christmas Carol

If you can’t reading the Dickens’s classic A Christmas Carol, consider watching the movie version of it. This beautiful story is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge, who is a mean and nasty old man with no time for Christmas. The ghost of his dead business partner arrives on the scene to help him realize that he needs change in his life. The visit works, and Scrooge is a changed man. If you need to remember what Christmas is all about, check out this movie (and then read the book)!

I absolutely love Christmas movies and more so since it’s getting closer to December. Right after Halloween, there is a burst of happiness in the US which includes Thanksgiving then Christmas. I love watching classic holiday movies with my family and the good thing is that I can rent them using my Blockbuster Movie Pass with my employee DISH Network account. The offer allows me to even get extra channels in my actual TV subscription and the best part about it is it’s availability to new and existing DISH Network customers. I love it and I’m always recommending that people check it out because it’s well worth it!
